honey, let's talk...

{Question}: Guess each other's favorite restaurants and dishes from those restaurants.

{Chris}: Lauren's favorite restaurants and dishes...the stacked club from UVU's library deli, the secret chicken wrap at Shiver's, cheese fries from Training Table, and the chicken artichoke panini at Paradise Bakery

{Lauren}: Chris's favorite restaurants and dishes...the whiskey river BBQ chicken wrap from Red Robin, the secret chicken wrap at Shiver's, the Las Vegas roll at Sakura Sushi, and the California burrito at Molcha Salsa

What are your favorite restaurants and dishes?

please try this...

Ok folks...this is serious.

If you are ever in Orem you HAVE to go to Farr's for some frozen yogurt.

I know, I know...once you've been to one yogurt place you have been to them all, but, no joke, Farr's is a MUST!! I love ice cream. That is to say that I am an ice cream junkie and Farr's is most definitely in my top 5 favorite ice creams...that is big, people.

This cup used to look so colorful and pretty, but I didn't have my camera on me, and this is what the cup looked like by the time Chris and I got home.

So, moral of the story...

1. GO TO FARR'S
2. Please try my fav mixture:

  • 1/2 Cake Batter

  • 1/2 Huckleberry

Topped with:

  • Strawberries

  • Raspberries

  • Blackberries

  • Mangoes

  • Kiwi

3. Call, text, email, or leave a comment thanking me for introducing you to pure awesomeness.

Hello there!

Welcome to Day 2 of the wedding festivities!

Today's agenda...Date video!!

Chris and I chose Lilly McDowell to be our videographer, and, like Sara Boulter, we were SO pleased with our choice! Lilly was incredible! So fun to film with...we seriously laughed the ENTIRE time filming with her!

Here is our date video...

oh no...

Have you seen these???

These are possibly the best/worst thing that have ever been invented. These deliciously delectable treats are gloriously packaged in the cutest, tiniest reese's cups I have ever seen. I cannot stop myself at just one, or two, or twelve....

delicious, but deadly.

ps. i wouldn't mind if one of these perfect packages just happened to be dropped off at my house or nicely given to me as a gift (wink wink hint hint nudge nudge) :)

hot pockets

So I just barely had a hot pocket for lunch....

As I was frantically trying to cool down the freakishly hot bite that I had in my mouth and my burning fingers holding the rest of it, I could only think of two things...

"HOLY THAT'S FREAKING HOT!" and "Jim Gaffigan was right"...

"Is your hot pocket cold in the middle?"
"It's frozen...but it can be served boiling lava hot."
"Will it burn my mouth?"
"It will destroy your mouth. Everything will taste like rubber for a month."

Story of my life.

note to self

It is ok to eat eggs after the "sell-by" date...as long as they are not green. (according to our nurse practitioner friend)

It is not ok to try to get rid of those eggs by making enough scrambled eggs to feed 6 people when you are the only one who is going to be eating them.

I don't think I can eat scrambled eggs again for a while...

round dos.

Yesterday Christopher and I celebrated our two year anniversary! The day went as follows...

1. Jack Johnson. Chris and I both LOVE him and his new CD came out yesterday...thanks Jack for the anniversary gift! ps. this CD is yet another awesome one.

2. Training Table. Of course we had to stop by our favorite restaurant...the cheese fries (and hawaiian burger for chris) were calling our names. Mmmm so tasty!

He really was excited...don't be fooled by the goofy face.

3. Petsmart. Remember Killer...previously known as Bob? Well...I've wanted a little fish friend of my own so Christopher surprised me by taking me to Petsmart!

Meet Brutus...

The green line? Oh no worries, that is a leaf hammock. Beta fish like them apparently.

4. Gift exchange. This year Christopher Brown was such a sweetie...he bought me a beautiful pearl necklace that I absolutely adore! I made him a super cozy Sigma Chi blanket! (all by myself I might add)

5. Scrapbooking. Yes, this was my idea. Last year when I made Chris a scrapbook, it took a loooong time (thank you to my girlies who helped me). So this year I decided we would work on it together! He was a very good sport.

6. Dinner. We made personal pizza's together for dinner...boy were they DELICIOUS!! Sorry...no pictures...we were too hungry by this point to even remember to take pictures! :)

7. Chick Flick. Yes, I have an awesome boyfriend who will gladly watch a chick flick with me...so nice. We watched Dear John...I love Nicholas Sparks so I think I'm going to read the book.

Thank you Christopher for my nice gifts and such a fun day!

deliciousness

equals Paradise Bakery

Especially Paradise cookies

And how neat that they come in a convenient little baggy...like so...

Don't worry...they give you more cookies than that...I just ate most of mine already :)

My advice is to go to Paradise bakery, order the chicken artichoke panini or the club, and get yourself a cookie. Your tummy will thank you!

Yep, pretty much a weekend filled with awesomeness!

chocolate love.

You know those little messages on the inside of Dove chocolates? I love those messages.
This is why...

{lauren eating her chocolates and reading wrappers}

Wrapper #1:
"Seek out small indulgences for yourself."
Lauren's Response: Chocolate is an indulgence...
looks like I have to have another one...

Wraper #2:
"Remind yourself that it's okay not to be perfect."
Lauren's Response: Self, it is okay that I'm not perfect. My sweet tooth prevents perfect eating habits and imperfection is okay therefore having another chocolate is okay...
looks like I have to have another one...

Wrapper #3:
"A special moment deserves a special chocolate."
Lauren's Response: Too bad that was my last chocolate...
looks like I have to go buy more.

In the meantime I'll just have to eat my Reeses.

sugar fiends

In the Harris household, we have a taste for cookies, cakes, candy...pretty much any sugary substance. When such things are present, they have a tendency to disappear quite rapidly. One moment they are arriving from the store or appearing out of the oven and the next they have vanished! It is actually quite frustrating when one has a reeses she's been saving for later and cannot wait until the moment she arrives home to quickly devour such a delicacy just to walk/run to her room to eat it to find it has mysteriously gone missing!

Because of this fascination with sugar the Harris clan has acquired, special measures must be taken to ensure that our sweets are not swiped from right under our noses...

Thank you mom for protecting my cookies...they were delicious!
