that awkward moment when...

Oh man, don't you love that awkward moment when you are dancing in your car at a stoplight, look over to the car next to you, and see that the person has been watching and laughing at you the whole time?

It only gets more awkward when you immediately stop dancing and stare straight ahead, refusing to look back over, as you shamefully wait another 2 minutes for the dang light to turn green.

Wait, you mean that has never happened to you?

Oh. Yeah. Me neither.

so...i took a vacay

Wow, ummm pretty sure time flies and sometimes I forget about my little bloggity-blog over here. I apologize.

Well, folks, I am back. Maybe I just needed a little time away.

Anyway, here's a little video that I seriously love...can't get over it.

bahahahahahahaha oh man, she is seriously the cutest thing I have ever seen.

Love you all!

the night before.

School starts tomorrow...
Here comes the homework, papers, quizzes, tests....bring on the stress.
In other news...there is a dang fruit fly buzzing around my personal space. I am slightly nervous that if I breathe in too deeply it will be sucked up my nose. Am I thinking about it too much? Probably.
Also, I started up my very own Pinterest! Check it out and hit me up with a follow, would ya?
Love you!

please excuse the mess...

So...uh...I am not very good with web design or creativity. Basically, I am mentally challenged when it comes to anything dealing with HTML/CSS/PXQ*RES&^#....blah, blah, blah. I try and I try to make cool fonts and pictures and crap and I end up royally screwing everything over.

The gist of what I am trying to say is that if you come to my blog and see everything in shambles please be patient with me for I am trying my very hardest to become a novice web designer!

Thank you, folks!

ps. I love you all!

First, and foremost, I must say that The Glee Project is freaking awesome. I love this show, and can I tell you how much I am fangirling over these two...

Pretty sure both Chris and I are major fangirling...major. We have serious crushes on Cameron and Damian.

Please check them out and then call me so we can all fangirl scream together.

**Disclaimer: this post contains personal information that may make some feel uncomfortable. Translation: this post talks about pee, infections, and lady parts.**

Well hello there my friends! I know it has been a whole month since I last posted...what can I say? Life is like that sometimes. But, instead of writing something boring (which never happens anyway, right?) I thought I would give you a little post to make you feel bad for me and, therefore, make you send nice things to me in the mail. Ha, I think I am so funny.

Anywho, let's get to the point here, people.

This morning I was stalking reading one of my all-time favorite blogs and stumbled upon this little post...please read

Now, for those of you who didn't read...basically she talks about her "peefection" aka "UTI" aka (for those who are fortunate enough to not know what this is) "urinary tract infection"...look it up.

So...as I was reading this post all I could think was..."No way! Yesterday morning I woke up to 'Zing! I have to pee something fierce!'" and a few mintues later had the "fire pee" experience...not to mention the ITCHING!! AH!

Yes, my friends, I got the peefection as well. Suck.
But, have no fear for I am being medicated and will be in tip-top shape in no time.
ps. My youngest brother asked me if I was sick and I told him I just had a small infection...later that day he wouldn't let me have a sip of his drink. I asked him why to which he replied, "I don't want to get your infection." HAHAHAHAHA...oh right...THAT'S how I got infected. I forgot.

neat and cheap diy

Hello there, folks! I've been brainstorming for cute decorating ideas for the apartment, and, because we are not allowed to paint, I have really wanted to put some fun and colorful things on the walls.

Yesterday I stumbled upon a cute little project that was ridiculously EASY and CHEAP!! Since these two words are totally awesome and some of my favorites - especially when combined - I thought I would try it out!

So I gathered up my supplies, got my creative juices flowing, and....

Easy, modern, cute, simple, unique...just my sort of thing! I love seeing it hanging in the house!

just too cute for words

Oh my goodness, people. I was going through my camera to delete unwanted pictures and I found some gems...

These pictures are from Christmas and I can't believe I forgot to put them up!

Look at the awesome presents I purchased for my mother's dogs...I am so thoughtful!

Aren't those the GREATEST?! Oh man I just die laughing every time I look at these...priceless.

Hope you got a chuckle out of our fashionable pups...now join the club and get one for your dog!

happily ever after

Hello, and welcome to another day of wedding fun!

Today's agenda...our FANTABULOUS temple video! Thanks Lilly, you are awesome!

Chris + Lauren + A Wedding from Lilly McDowell on Vimeo.

Hope you enjoyed!

I will put up pictures and video of the reception when I get them! Still waiting on those!

home improvement

Since moving into our apartment, Chris and I have been trying to put the house together. Finally, we are starting to see some progress!

What is with Chris's gooney face, you ask? Ya, I have no idea?

Last week my mother and I were busy, busy, busy making pillows for the couch...what do you think?

More pictures to come!

some weekend fun.

So this weekend the fam decided to take a little boating trip!

The weather was beautiful, the water was cool, and the company was hilarious as always.

Even big daddy took good old "Moby Dick" out for a spin!

The second day of boating was filled even more awesomeness...I apologize that I did not bring my camera that day. But, Monday was when the boys decided to whip out all of their tricks on the wakeboard...even some tantrums (apparently some sort of backflip) were attempted and ALMOST landed! Next time it will happen for sure!

Gotta love the fam...they are pretty great!

Welcome to another day of wedding awesomeness!

On the agenda for today...Bridal pictures!

Again...Sara Boulter...could she be any more fantastic? I think not!

Check it...

honey, let's talk...

{Question}: Guess each other's favorite restaurants and dishes from those restaurants.

{Chris}: Lauren's favorite restaurants and dishes...the stacked club from UVU's library deli, the secret chicken wrap at Shiver's, cheese fries from Training Table, and the chicken artichoke panini at Paradise Bakery

{Lauren}: Chris's favorite restaurants and dishes...the whiskey river BBQ chicken wrap from Red Robin, the secret chicken wrap at Shiver's, the Las Vegas roll at Sakura Sushi, and the California burrito at Molcha Salsa

What are your favorite restaurants and dishes?

please try this...

Ok folks...this is serious.

If you are ever in Orem you HAVE to go to Farr's for some frozen yogurt.

I know, I know...once you've been to one yogurt place you have been to them all, but, no joke, Farr's is a MUST!! I love ice cream. That is to say that I am an ice cream junkie and Farr's is most definitely in my top 5 favorite ice creams...that is big, people.

This cup used to look so colorful and pretty, but I didn't have my camera on me, and this is what the cup looked like by the time Chris and I got home.

So, moral of the story...

2. Please try my fav mixture:

  • 1/2 Cake Batter

  • 1/2 Huckleberry

Topped with:

  • Strawberries

  • Raspberries

  • Blackberries

  • Mangoes

  • Kiwi

3. Call, text, email, or leave a comment thanking me for introducing you to pure awesomeness.

ps. you are welcome

our love story.

Welcome to Day 3 of wedding awesomeness!

On the agenda for today...Our love story.

Now, I have never told the story of how Chris and I met here on the blog. This video we did for the wedding does a much better job at explaining and telling the story...plus it is more fun to watch than to read!

So, without any further ado, our love story...

Chris + Lauren: Our Story from Lilly McDowell on Vimeo.

How did you and your special someone meet?

ps. Happy 4th of July! I hope you are doing something epic!

honey, let's talk...

Alright, people! Are you ready for question number 2?! Here we go...

{Question}: Name one thing you wish you would have done before you were married.

{Chris}: Become rich, and lived with my best boys.

{Lauren}: Lived with roommates, go on a study abroad, or worked as a Princess at Disneyland...I can't decide.

What things do you wish you would have done? Or what things would you like to do before you get married?

you've got mail

Dear couple that lives upstairs,

Although we don't always love to hear your every footstep as you walk around your place, Chris and I sometimes have a good chuckle...

Like that time that I was doing my makeup in the bathroom and I heard you walk right above me (into your own bathroom), open the toilet seat, take care of "bidness", flush, and walk away. What ever happened to the washing of the hands?

Or that time that Chris distinctly heard you fart cut the cheese VERY loudly...ya, I know you thought you were alone, sorry. Don't be alarmed if you hear hysterical laughing coming from downstairs the next time this happens...we are only laughing with you!

Dear drummer in the neighborhood,

Normally people would be upset with your loud drumming filling up the entire street, but I think it is awesome. You are actually pretty good and I would much rather listen to you drum for an hour than listen to someone taking a dump upstairs.

Dear apartment that we live in,

I promise that I will get around to decorating you. I have some really awesome ideas, but can you blame me? This big task feels a little daunting sometimes!

I am committed to making you look cute though...so have no fear!

chris & lauren bake a cake

Hello there!

Welcome to Day 2 of the wedding festivities!

Today's agenda...Date video!!

Chris and I chose Lilly McDowell to be our videographer, and, like Sara Boulter, we were SO pleased with our choice! Lilly was incredible! So fun to film with...we seriously laughed the ENTIRE time filming with her!

Here is our date video...

Chris + Lauren Bake a Cake! from Lilly McDowell on Vimeo.

Hope you enjoyed watching us eating cake in front of you! Ha

honey, let's talk...

Why hello! I didn't see you there! How are you?

When Chris and I were going through our gifts from the wedding we opened a cute little present with a lovely jar in it...

Each slip of paper has a question on it that you and your spouse have to answer...

Super cute idea, right?! Chris and I have started pulling a question before bed and I thought I would share these with you.

So, honey, let's talk...

{Question}: If your life was made into a movie, what genre; e.g. romance, comedy, adventure - would people more than likely find it?

{Chris}: Stupid comedy...like Napoleon Dynamite. I can either be really hilarious, or super annoying.

{Lauren}: Most likely a romantic comedy...Chris is the romance, and, although he is pretty funny, I am pretty dang funny too.

What genre would your life be?

Welcome to Day 1 of wedding awesomeness!

The first thing on the agenda....Engagement pictures!!

Chris and I chose to use Sara Boulter as our wedding photographer and, BOY, am I so glad we did. Sara was absolutely fantastical! She was awesome to work with and is quite the hoot...we most definitely laughed the whole time while with her. I am so thrilled with how all of the pictures turned out!

Check it...

This was such a fun day and the pictures turned out beautifully!
Thank you Sara!
