that awkward moment when...

Oh man, don't you love that awkward moment when you are dancing in your car at a stoplight, look over to the car next to you, and see that the person has been watching and laughing at you the whole time?

It only gets more awkward when you immediately stop dancing and stare straight ahead, refusing to look back over, as you shamefully wait another 2 minutes for the dang light to turn green.

Wait, you mean that has never happened to you?

Well hello there my friends! I know it has been a whole month since I last posted...what can I say? Life is like that sometimes. But, instead of writing something boring (which never happens anyway, right?) I thought I would give you a little post to make you feel bad for me and, therefore, make you send nice things to me in the mail. Ha, I think I am so funny.

Anywho, let's get to the point here, people.

This morning I was stalking reading one of my all-time favorite blogs and stumbled upon this little post...please read

Now, for those of you who didn't read...basically she talks about her "peefection" aka "UTI" aka (for those who are fortunate enough to not know what this is) "urinary tract infection"...look it up.

So...as I was reading this post all I could think was..."No way! Yesterday morning I woke up to 'Zing! I have to pee something fierce!'" and a few mintues later had the "fire pee" experience...not to mention the ITCHING!! AH!

Yes, my friends, I got the peefection as well. Suck.

But, have no fear for I am being medicated and will be in tip-top shape in no time.

ps. My youngest brother asked me if I was sick and I told him I just had a small infection...later that day he wouldn't let me have a sip of his drink. I asked him why to which he replied, "I don't want to get your infection." HAHAHAHAHA...oh right...THAT'S how I got infected. I forgot.

Hmmm...what have I learned...

1. planning a wedding is quite the process
2. when I am crazy stressed out my face tends to take its revenge on me by breaking out uncontrollably
3. I realize everyday how lucky I am to be surrounded by my family, friends, and wonderful fiance who all love me and wish the best for me! I am so grateful!

I have done a lot of growing this past year. August 2010 was my first time living away from home...living in a different city helped me grow up a little and definitely made me get out of my comfort zone. In high school you are always so concerned about who your friends are and where you fit in...moving away from home really gave me a chance to get away from all of that and (as cheesy as it sounds) find my true personality, goals...just myself.

Plus, I get to marry the most amazing man this year...only 9 more days!!!

What would I find in your bag...

Hahaha oh goodness...if you know me well you know that my purse is always a complete mess. Mostly it is full of gum wrappers, receipts, random papers, movie tickets, etc. I also usually have tons of lip gloss, hand sanitizer, lotion, bobby pins, and a pile of loose change lost in the bottomless pit. Then we have your regular things like my wallet and phone.

Trust me...it is a mess, and the mess just accumulates as Chris will hand me anything and everything to "put it in the purse"...maybe I should get him a purse of his own.

Man-purse + Christopher = Hysterical Awesomeness.

A letter to your parents...

Dear Mom and Dad,

Where do I even begin? You two have been and still are such a staple in my life. Words cannot express my gratitude for the way you raised me and the life you created for our family. You taught me how to work hard (even though we still like to be lazy). You taught me to set my standards high because I was capable of accomplishing my goals. You taught me obedience, humility, responsiblity, and so much more. I am grateful that you made it a priority for the family to spend time together whether it be a vacation, dinner in the canyon, or game night because those memories are some of my most cherished. I realize again each day how important you are to me and am grateful that you are always there for me. I cannot thank you enough for the continuous support and love you have for me and I hope that one day I can be the same solid foundation for my own children.

So uh....I honestly have tried to come up with something for days and am at a loss, therefore I am skipping this question.

Someone you see yourself marrying or being with in the future...

As a little girl I was (and still am) a princess at heart so obviously I always knew I was going to marry and be with Prince Charming...who else could fill such an important role, right?

And guess what? I found him. Who is he?

This guy...



This Prince Charming didn't come riding in on a white horse to slay some dragons and save me, but he still swept me off my feet.

In two and a half months we will be married and will live happily ever after because that's what a princesses and Prince Charmings do...maybe one day we will even own a castle.

over the years I have had tons of nicknames...some come and go and others like to stick around...here are the few I can remember.

Booster or Boo - my dad has called me this since the day I can remember
Wowen - my youngest brother called me this before he could say his l's and r's
L-en - pronounced ellen...my good friend, Jamie, came up with this one
Lorenzo - also created by my good friend, Jamie.
L-train - I'm pretty sure this originated in my dance class?
Laur - This is the nickname many people call me, but mostly Bethy and Caitlin

and my favorite...

Pretty - This is what Christopher Brown calls me on a regular basis...I love that the first thing he says when he sees me is "Hey pretty, how are you?"

Plans/dreams/goals you have...

My plans, dreams, and goals are always changing. 4 year old Lauren would say her plan was to be a princess living in a castle. 8 year old Lauren would add being an awesome pop star like the Spice Girls. 10 year old Lauren would tell you she was going to be a ballerina someday.

...as you can see...my dreams and goals are never set in stone.

But one thing I know I want for sure is to be a mom, an aunt, a grandma...I want a family. That's the plan and is actually the only plan that has never changed throughout the years.

...also to be rich haha

Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why?

I have though about this question for a couple of days now trying to come up with a super rad person to switch lives with...then I realized that it wouldn't really matter exactly who I was switching with. To me, switching with any random person would be interesting. To experience, for one day, life through the eyes of another...to see the world they do, to see what is most important, most feared, most loved, most enjoyed. To experience this person's ways of thinking and reasoning...to see the unique web of memories that live within only their head. Could you imagine what that would be like? I could imagine that having such an experience would truly connect people on such a deep and emotional level. Every person's life is uniquely and solely theirs...how interesting it would be to be able to live in someone else's world that is completely different from your own.
